Monitoring health services delivery, budgetary and management of health funds

This project is supported by the Open Society Initiative for East Africa (OSIEA) and The Open Society Public Health Program’s Accountability and Monitoring in Health Initiative (AMHI). The purpose of the project is to support community members in monitoring health services delivery, budgetary and management of devolved public health funds in Kenya’s health facilities.

The action targets Nyeri County and Embu/Mbeere County members through Community Health Committees (CHC), Dispensary/Health Centre/Hospital Committees and grassroots civil society organisations including Community Based Organisations, Non Governmental Organisations, Religious Organisations and local community leaders among others. The other targets are Community Health Workers, Facility In-Charges, and health care providers working in local public health facilities.

The project is expected to generate citizen’s report cards on availability, accessibility, affordability and quality of health care services in four dispensaries (Level 2), four health centres (level 3) and two district hospitals (level 4).
