Mrs. Lichuma is a human rights lawyer and gender expert. She has extensive programming, leadership, academic and legal experience in gender and development, gender mainstreaming, gender transformative programming, human rights and the human rights-based approach to programming.

Her understanding and knowledge in sexual and reproductive health issues and debates globally, regionally and at Kenya country levels are of immeasurable value in determining the methodologies, strategies and outcomes of activities that HERAF engages in when targeting vulnerable people, especially those affected by and infected with HIV& AIDS, women, children and PWDs.

Her academic qualifications include a Masters of Arts in Gender and Development, Masters of Law (LLM) in International Human Rights Law, Post graduate Diploma in Advanced International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and an undergraduate degree in LLB. She has served as a Commissioner with the Kenya National Commission of Human Rights through a Presidential Appointment
